Strategy, advertising and organic growth in the supplements category on Amazon.it

Brand: Symbeauty  ·  Category: food supplements  ·  Marketplace: Amazon.it  ·  Result: past €20,000 a day in gross revenue

Symbeauty arrived on Amazon.it in November 2024 from a very clear starting position: no sales history, no reviews, no active e-commerce, no commercial channel already running and a catalogue still to be built.

In 19 months the brand went from newly incorporated company to a project turning over more than €20,000 a day gross on Amazon.it, in one of the most crowded categories on the marketplace: food supplements.

The result did not come from a single campaign, nor from simply raising the budget. It was built with an integrated strategy across positioning, content, advertising, Amazon Marketing Cloud, FBA logistics, external channels, organic ranking and a catalogue grown deliberately.

What follows is the route taken, the levers used, and the method that let Symbeauty build a solid presence in a category held by far more established brands.

The starting point: a brand built from nothing

When Symbeauty started on Amazon.it it was not an established brand opening another channel. It was a newly incorporated company: there was a logo, and everything else had to be built — positioning, packaging, copy, commercial identity, product pages, advertising strategy.

Amazon.it was the first real launch channel. No reviews, no prior sales, no trading history, no other channel running. That makes the project harder, but it also makes it far easier to read: everything that happened afterwards is attributable to the work done on the marketplace.

The opening catalogue was 2 products, launched in the last quarter of 2024. From there it grew deliberately, roughly one new SKU every three to four months, to the 7 active SKUs of August 2026.

That progression made it possible to work precisely on each product instead of expanding in a hurry. Every SKU was treated as its own project, with its own analysis, its own positioning and its own optimisation path.

The challenge: entering the supplements market on Amazon

Supplements on Amazon.it is among the most competitive categories there is. It is held by strong Italian and international brands, usually already well positioned, with established reviews, broad catalogues and serious advertising budgets.

For Symbeauty the challenge was not only initial visibility. It was building trust, generating sales, earning reviews, improving BSR and ranking organically on the category’s main keywords.

In a niche like this, organic ranking is the decisive objective: selling on the back of advertising is not enough — you need a stable presence in the search results so that unpaid sales carry a growing share over time.

To lower the opening barrier of having no reviews we used Amazon Vine, which built the first social proof around the products and supported the first conversions.

In parallel, Symbeauty was positioned on a different concept at a very competitive price, to make the offer clearer and more accessible than the incumbents. The objective was twofold: organic position on the main keywords and a rise in brand searches — the signal that a name is genuinely starting to be recognised.

The strategy: building growth, not just sales

This was not run as an Amazon Ads exercise. The growth was built on five connected levels.

  1. Positioning. Before pushing the products, we had to decide how to make them recognisable, competitive and consistent with what an Amazon customer expects.
  2. Content. The pages had to communicate benefits, characteristics, reliability and perceived value clearly. In a category as delicate as supplements, clarity converts directly.
  3. Advertising. Campaigns were used not only to sell, but to gather data, validate keywords, capture qualified demand and support the organic ranking.
  4. Data. Continuous performance analysis told us which products responded, which keywords had headroom and where to move the budget.
  5. The catalogue. Gradual growth instead of multiple launches, so attention and resources stayed concentrated on each SKU.

The objective was not to sell more in the short term, but to build a system that generates qualified traffic, conversions, sales history, organic ranking and increasingly frequent brand searches.

What Amazon Ads and Marketing Cloud contributed

Amazon Ads was central. In the opening phase the campaigns created visibility in a category where starting from zero means competing against products that are already strong, already reviewed and already ranked. Advertising was used as the way into the market, not as the only source of growth.

The campaigns gathered query data, tested keyword potential, supported the first sales and created the signals that organic position is built on.

As the project matured, Amazon Marketing Cloud allowed a more advanced reading of the customer journey and of what each activity was really contributing. That is what made deliberate scaling possible: not raising the budget and hoping, but understanding where to invest, which touchpoints were carrying the growth, and how advertising, content and ranking connect.

Symbeauty started with 2 products in the last quarter of 2024. The catalogue was then widened by roughly one product every three to four months, to the 7 active SKUs of August 2026.

That approach avoided spreading the budget thin, kept attention high on every launch, and built a more solid presence in the category.

Each new SKU was not an extension of the catalogue but a new positioning opportunity: more coverage on the relevant searches and more entry points into the brand.

The results

In 19 months Symbeauty went from no sales at all to passing €20,000 a day in gross revenue on Amazon.it — as an average reached and held across multiple days.

The figure weighs more when read against the starting position: no history, no reviews, no e-commerce, no active channel, no authority already built — and one of the hardest categories on the marketplace.

  • growth from 2 to 7 active SKUs;
  • past the €20,000 a day threshold on Amazon.it;
  • organic position built progressively;
  • improved BSR;
  • rising brand searches;
  • trust built through reviews and content;
  • Amazon Ads, Amazon Marketing Cloud and external channels used together;
  • a growth system that does not depend on advertising alone.

The Symbeauty case shows that Amazon can be the first real growth engine for a new brand, even in a category as difficult as supplements.

What the Symbeauty case teaches

  1. Amazon is an ecosystem, not a channel. Content, advertising, price, reviews, logistics, organic ranking and data have to work together.
  2. A brand launch is not built on budget alone. Budget helps, but without positioning, content that works and a correct reading of the data it produces fragile growth.
  3. Organic ranking is an objective from day one. The most durable growth comes when the brand takes stable visibility on the main keywords.
  4. Catalogue growth has to be controlled. Launching fewer products with a precise strategy beats widening immediately without direction.
  5. Brand searches are the signal to watch. When people search for the name directly, the project is building recognition and no longer depends on generic traffic.

A series of case studies on the Symbeauty project

This is the main case study on Symbeauty. In the pieces that follow we look at individual levers of the growth:

  • how organic visibility on Amazon was built;
  • how Amazon Ads and Marketing Cloud made scaling possible;
  • how brand searches grew over time;
  • how the catalogue was developed step by step.

Each one starts from the same project, and looks at a different lever.
