What does an agency running your Amazon account actually do?

It holds together the four levers that move as one on Amazon — catalogue, price, advertising and account health — and keeps them aligned every day rather than in bursts. In practice: listings and content kept current, price defended on the Buy Box, campaigns held to budget and return, and performance metrics never allowed to drift towards the thresholds that trigger a suspension.

We are an Amazon SPN certified agency and we work both Seller Central and Vendor Central, including PPC and programmatic through Amazon DSP.

What does an Amazon account manager do, day to day?

The account manager is the person who holds your account every day. Not a general consultant: an SPN-certified specialist who knows Seller Central and Vendor Central, owns the KPIs, advertising and compliance, and is your line into Amazon support.

Who is watching your account today?

If the answer is «whenever someone gets to it», that is where the problems start: a notification nobody saw, or a saturated budget cap, costs sales long before it becomes a visible failure. We look at your account and show you what is open, in a free 30-minute call.

What does managing a Seller Central account cover?

Seller Central is the model where you sell directly to the end customer. It needs constant attention on listings, pricing, logistics and the Account Health metrics.

Listing and catalogue optimisation

SEO rewriting of product pages, structured keyword research, variations, attributes and categories. Updated continuously against conversion data.

Price, stock and inventory changes

Pricing strategy built to hold the Buy Box, competitor monitoring, dynamic price lists and continuous stock checks so you do not run out.

Buyer-seller messages and complaints

Customer messages handled properly, answered within 24 hours, A-to-z claims escalated and negative feedback challenged where it can be, to protect account health.

Seller or Vendor: what actually changes?

On Seller Central you sell to the end customer and you set the price. On Vendor Central you sell to Amazon, which buys the goods and then decides what to resell them for. The first is open to anyone; the second is by invitation only. The five dimensions that genuinely differ are below.

DimensionSeller CentralVendor Central
Account ownershipOpen to anyone, run by the brandBy invitation from Amazon only
PricingSet by the seller, who competes for the Buy BoxNegotiated with Amazon, final price decided by Amazon
LogisticsFBA or FBM, handled by the sellerShipments into Amazon’s warehouses, purchase order handling
ComplianceODR, Late Shipment Rate, Cancellation RateChargebacks, PO accuracy, lead time

Not sure whether Seller or Vendor is right for you?

It is the question we are asked most, and the answer changes with the catalogue and the margin: who controls the price, who holds the stock, who answers the customer. We look at your numbers and tell you which of the two models holds up better — before you sign anything.

Who looks after FBA shipments and stock?

FBA is Amazon’s strongest logistics lever. We run the whole cycle: registration, prep, stock monitoring, and the non-conformities that nobody notices until the invoice arrives.

Inbound shipments and stock

Inbound planning, SKU and FNSKU labelling, pallet and parcel handling, coordination with your logistics partners. Stock watched to avoid both stockouts and long-term storage fees.

Returns, refunds and the Prime badge

Returns automated, refund policy handled, Prime badge requirements maintained, and feedback defended when a return is not the seller’s fault.

Logistics discrepancies and reimbursement claims

Reimbursement cases opened for stock lost, damaged or received incorrectly. With proper documentation the money typically comes back within 30 to 60 days.

How is an Amazon product page optimised?

On five elements: title, images, bullet points, backend search terms and A+ Content. Title and backend search terms decide whether the page is found; main image, bullets and A+ Content decide whether it sells once opened. It is written for Amazon’s search, not Google’s — two different algorithms, and the words that work on one often do not work on the other.

Above the listing we build the Brand Store around themes rather than a list of ASINs; below it, Amazon advertising brings the qualified traffic.

Images, copy and page structure

White-background hero image, lifestyle shots, benefit infographics, bullet points and an SEO description. Minimum 1600px on the long side, or zoom does not switch on.

Brand Store and navigation

A multi-page storefront organised by theme, brand video, and Sponsored Brands landing straight on the Store rather than on a competitor’s page.

Had a performance notification?

On the accounts we run, account health, the notifications received and suppressed listings are checked every day: when a problem surfaces it is fixed there and then. If your ODR is climbing, or something has arrived from Seller Performance, let’s talk it through in a free 30-minute call.

Who should have access to your Seller Central?

A professional Amazon account is usually used by several people: marketing, customer service, finance, the agency. Setting roles and permissions properly protects the business from operational mistakes and from access nobody remembered to revoke.

User roles and granular permissions

User profiles with access split by area: catalogue (creating and editing ASINs), ads (campaigns and budget), finance (revenue reports), performance (Account Health). Least privilege applied to every role.

Roles, groups and order approval policies

On Amazon Business and larger teams we configure user groups and approval policies above a spend threshold: authorisation workflows, delegation by spend category and an approval log you can audit.

Access security and MFA

Two-factor authentication made mandatory, authorised devices managed, and access revoked promptly when someone leaves the team.

Audit trail and activity log

User activity monitored, catalogue and price changes logged, traceable for internal compliance and security reviews.

What does Amazon ask for when company details change?

Account health also depends on legal and tax details being right. A change of company structure, a new address, a new bank account or a new legal representative all require a precise documentary process, or the account is held while Amazon checks.

KYC and document verification

Handling Amazon’s Know Your Customer requests: company registry extract, articles of association, ultimate beneficial owners, the legal representative’s identity documents. The file goes in complete, so it does not bounce.

Updating legal and tax details

Company name, VAT number, registered office, bank details for disbursements, VIES data for EU sales. Coordinated with your accountant so Amazon and the books agree.

Revoking access and multi-marketplace governance

Prompt revocation for people and suppliers leaving the team, and coordinated governance of accounts across several European marketplaces or globally.

Changing your company name, registered office or bank details?

This is the moment accounts get blocked: Amazon puts the data back into verification and, until the file is in order, sales stop. Preparing the documents in the right order before touching anything almost always avoids the block. Talk to us before you make the change, not after.

What service levels are there, and who are they for?

We work in modular service levels, sized on how mature the brand is and how much volume the account carries. How the fee is built is explained further down — and the number itself comes after we have looked at your account, never from a rate card.

What drives the cost: number of SKUs, category complexity, how many marketplaces are in scope, advertising volume, whether Brand Registry is in place, and Seller versus Vendor. How long it takes to pay for itself depends on your margin and volume — we write that threshold into the proposal, on your numbers, not on an average.

Indexing and conversion

How does a product rank in Amazon search?

Amazon SEO is not Google SEO: it is played on title, bullets, backend search terms, A+ Content and Store architecture. We work every lever to index the commercial queries that carry real volume.

Monitor showing a completed product page and an analytics panel with sales and conversion rate rising

Title, bullets, A+ Content and images for indexing

SEO rewriting of title (200 characters), bullets (5 × 250), description (2,000) and backend search terms (250 bytes). High-resolution images, benefit infographics, A+ Content Premium.

Working session on Amazon seller account management

Store refresh and catalogue architecture for conversion

Brand Store built around themes with consistent navigation, seasonal refreshes, Sponsored Brands integration, Store Insights analysis and page CTR work.

What is the Brand Store for?

To give your brand its own shop window inside Amazon, organised by theme instead of as a list of ASINs: it is where advertising traffic lands without ending up on a competitor’s page. It is only available to brands enrolled in Brand Registry.

Want the account managed properly?

A named account manager, procedures that prevent suspensions rather than appeal them, and account health watched continuously — not a standard monthly report. The first 30-minute call is free.

What does Amazon account management cost?

The monthly fee is built on three measurable things, not on a pre-set package.

  • How many SKUs the catalogue holds and how often it changes: ten stable products and eight hundred with seasonal variations are two different jobs.
  • How many markets you run. Every country adds a language, a tax position and another customer service queue.
  • What state the account is in today. If performance, content or compliance have to be put right before anything can grow, the first period costs more than steady-state management — and we say so upfront, not on the invoice.

Seller Central and Vendor Central carry different commitments: Vendor brings purchase orders, chargebacks and the commercial relationship, and the fee reflects that.

When delegating is the wrong call

Delegating makes sense when the time it frees is worth more than it costs. That is not always true.

  • You have few SKUs in a single market and the account runs cleanly. A periodic review costs a fraction of ongoing management.
  • The problem is upstream. If the product is not competitive on price or quality, no amount of account management makes it sell.
  • You want to keep every decision in-house. That is legitimate — but then what you need is training, not an account manager: we would be working against each other.
  • You are considering closing the channel. Talk to us first: sometimes closing it is right, and saying so is more useful than selling you twelve months of management.

Frequently asked questions

Every day we check four things on the account — account status, notifications received, suppressed listings, feedback — and four on advertising: budget caps at portfolio and campaign level, campaign status, daily touch points, CPC and returns. If the check turns up a fault we fix it there and then; if it is a judgement call, we schedule a follow-up check a few days out, depending on the campaign type.

Effectively every day. We open a direct channel — some clients prefer WhatsApp, others email — and we would rather send you the daily state of play than a standard monthly report.

If the material exists and is good, the same day: clients send us new products constantly and we work through them as they arrive. If the page needs to be rewritten properly to actually sell, we say so before starting rather than after.

A low fixed fee plus a variable part tied to agreed targets, rather than a pre-set package: it is built on how many SKUs the catalogue holds, how many markets you run and what state the account is in today. There is no lock-in and every contract carries an early termination clause, but we recommend at least six months and prefer twelve — in three there is not time to see the work take effect.

Not always, and we say so before signing. If you have few SKUs in one market and the account runs cleanly, a periodic review costs a fraction of full management. Delegating pays when the time it frees is worth more than it costs: an account growing faster than you can follow it, more markets open, or a compliance problem that could stop your sales.
